My Plant Reminder Now on Android

If you’ve ever killed a plant by overwatering while another one withered from neglect, you know the real problem: every plant has its own rhythm, but most reminder apps only know how to say “once a week.” My Plant Reminder fixes that by letting each plant live on its own care schedule—watering every 7 days, fertilizing every 30, misting every 10—all tracked independently.

After launching on iOS last year, I’m thrilled to bring the app to Android. If you’ve been waiting for this on Google Play, it’s ready.

Why I Built This

I built this for myself. I have too many plants, I kept forgetting which ones I’d watered, and I hated the idea of uploading all that data to someone else’s server just to remember when to water a monstera. I wanted something that lived entirely on my phone, fired notifications at exactly the time I chose, and let me look back at what I actually did weeks ago without logging in or creating an account.

The app has been evolving on iOS for a while now, and the Android version brings the same philosophy: privacy by design, local-only storage, and enough flexibility to handle the fact that your fiddle leaf fig and your snake plant have completely different needs.

What It Does

  • Independent care schedules per plant. Your monstera runs on water every 7 days + fertilize every 30 + mist every 10. Your succulent just needs water every 14. Each task has its own interval and reminder time.
  • Per-plant reminder times. Wake one plant at 7 AM, another at 8 PM. No blanket “9 AM for everything.” Each plant rings when it actually needs attention.
  • Full-screen care alarm. When a reminder fires, a dedicated alarm screen takes over with sound and vibration. One tap logs the care, snoozes 10 minutes, or dismisses it entirely.
  • Calendar editor and care history. Tap any date in the month view to see what was done, then add or remove a record inline. Backfill a watering you forgot to log or clean up a duplicate. Your history stays in sync with your actual care.
  • Growth trends and stats. See monthly care totals as a bar chart. Completion ratios show you which plants you keep forgetting and which tasks you’re under-delivering on—so you can adjust with evidence, not guesswork.
  • Branded plant cards. Pick a pastel color, drop a photo, write a memo. A status pill turns green the moment today’s tasks are done, so progress is immediately visible.
  • Backup and restore. Export your entire database—all plants and care history—to a single file and re-import it on a new phone with one tap. Your record carries across device changes without breaking.
  • Local-only by design. Everything saves on your device. No login, no account, no analytics tied to who you are. Notifications and storage are fully offline.

Who This Is For

This app is built for indoor plant collectors juggling more than three plants—the people who’ve lost track of which plant was watered last weekend, or who keep forgetting that one fussy succulent in the corner. If you’re uncomfortable handing plant care data to a cloud service, or if you just want notifications that actually ring at the right time for the right plant, this is for you.

Get Started

The app is free to download on Google Play with an optional small banner ad on Home, Stats, and Settings, plus a single full-screen ad after every fifth plant added. Start with a single plant today. The moment plant care becomes data, the number of leaves you lose drops sharply.
