Your phone’s photo library has thousands of images. You know you should clean it up, but the thought of sorting through all of them is paralyzing. Phocle makes that process painless—swipe left to delete, swipe right to keep, and your storage problems start disappearing.
I built Phocle because I was drowning in my own gallery. Scrolling through year-old screenshots, blurry duplicates, and screenshots of screenshots wasn’t just wasting storage—it was wasting my time and frustration. I wanted a tool that would let me make quick decisions at scale, without the cognitive overhead of traditional folder-based organization. The app has been available on Android for a while now, and I’m excited to bring it to iOS users who’ve been waiting for the same experience.
How It Works
- Swipe to organize. Left swipe marks a photo for deletion, right swipe keeps it. No menus, no dialogs—just quick decisions.
- Smart grouping. Photos are automatically organized by month, year, folder, or by file size. This means you can tackle similar photos in batches instead of one at a time.
- Review before you delete. Before anything is permanently removed, you see a grid view of all marked photos. You can tap any image to exclude it from deletion if you change your mind.
- Undo support. Just swiped something by accident? Undo it immediately.
- Works with videos too. Large video files take up just as much space as photos, so they’re included in the cleanup process.
- See your progress. A statistics view shows you exactly how many photos you’ve organized and how much storage you’ve freed up over time.
Privacy First
Phocle never sends your photos anywhere. Everything happens on your device. The app only requests photo access for the purpose of organizing them, and a final system confirmation dialog ensures you have to explicitly approve any deletion.
Who Should Use This
If you take a lot of photos—whether you’re a casual snapper or someone who runs out of storage every few months—Phocle is built for you. It’s especially useful if you’ve been putting off gallery cleanup because traditional tools feel tedious or overwhelming. The swipe-based interface makes bulk organizing feel fast instead of painful, and the safety nets (undo, grid review, system confirmation) mean you won’t accidentally lose something important.
Phocle is now available on the App Store for iOS. Download it, pick a month or folder, and start swiping. Your phone’s storage—and your peace of mind—will thank you.
