If you’ve ever stared at a blank prompt box in Stable Diffusion or Midjourney, wondering what keywords actually produce the image in your head, you know the problem. AI image generation is powerful, but only if you know the right tags — and there are thousands of them. Most people end up googling “best Stable Diffusion tags” or copying prompts from Reddit without understanding what each part does.
I built Promgrammer because I got tired of that workflow. I wanted a tool that let me browse tags visually, understand what categories exist, and build prompts without having to memorize obscure keywords or maintain a personal cheat sheet. The result is a structured library of over 1700 tags, organized into 18 categories, with support for four languages.
What it does
Promgrammer is a tag browser and prompt composer. You pick tags from organized categories, the app assembles them into a prompt, and you copy it to your AI image tool of choice.
- 18 tag categories — Composition (close-up, wide shot, bird’s eye view), themes (fantasy, cyberpunk, watercolor, anime), focus (depth of field, bokeh, tilt-shift), backgrounds (city, forest, ocean, space), character details (body type, hairstyle, eye color, poses, expressions, actions), clothing, accessories, lighting (backlight, golden hour, rim light), color palettes, negative prompts (remove low quality, fix finger distortions), and more.
- Drag-and-drop editing — Reorder tags in your prompt by dragging. Rearrange categories to match your workflow. Changes sync to your account automatically.
- Save prompts with images — Store completed prompts with notes and attach the generated images so you can track what actually worked.
- Custom tags and categories — Add your own tags and organize them however you want. Great for model-specific keywords or personal shortcuts.
- Favorites and history — Bookmark frequently used tags and filter by favorites. The app auto-saves your copied prompts so you can revisit past work.
- Search and hide — Instant search across tag names and categories. Hide tags you never use to keep the interface clean.
- Multilingual support — All tags display in English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
Who it’s for
This app is for anyone who uses text-to-image AI tools but finds prompt writing tedious or intimidating. Beginners get a guided tour of what’s possible instead of starting from a blank slate. Experienced users can skip the googling and build prompts faster. If you’re not fluent in English, the multilingual tags make it easier to explore options without translation friction. And if you like saving your work, the gallery and save features let you treat prompts like reusable templates instead of one-off experiments.
Getting started
All core features are free. Sign in to unlock favorites, saved prompts, custom tags, and the image gallery. The app doesn’t generate images itself — it’s a companion tool that makes prompt writing less of a guessing game. If you’ve been copying prompts from others or struggling to remember syntax, this might save you a lot of time.
Good prompts make good images. Promgrammer just makes it easier to write them.
